My introduction to the Grateful Dead was via their second album 'Anthem of the Sun', when I was still young enough to 'follow the serpentine path of instinct without hesitation or misgiving'. Without knowing or even questioning why, I was enthralled by the music and I remember spending countless hours listening to the album and contemplating the cover. The cover was painted by Bill Walker and to any of you not aware of his website, I recommend a visit. It contains a wonderful guide to the cover painting.

"But our old psychedelic experiences always pointed out the possibility that, like, the best thing you can do is to do what you're doing the best way you can and hope for the f*ckin' best." - Jerry Garcia
